The project
The brief
No brief, just a spring afternoon and a sketchbook. I wanted to see how little colour a picture needs.
How it was made
Most of the paper stays bare. The blossom is one pale pink pass, and the dandelions are the only strong colour in it.
The result
It is now the print I send to clients as a thank you at the end of a project.
Sample image: Katsushika Hokusai, Dandelions and Clovers beneath Cherry Tree, c. 1807. Public domain, Art Institute of Chicago.
